NewsTraining School on Energy Geostructures
Maria Romana Alvi, Simone De Feudis and Alessandra Insana participated to the training school dedicated to "Energy geostructures: Overcoming barriers to their implementation", organized by COST Action FOLIAGE, that took place in Madrid from the 28 to the 30 May 2024. The sessions were enlightening, led by both academics and industry experts who are at the forefront of research and development in this field. Alessandra Insana illustrated technical issues related to the design of energy geostructures, showing the importance of soil thermo-hydro-mechanical characterization and of thermal/structural design of energy piles, walls and tunnels. Most of the work is part of the research activity carried out with Prof. Marco Barla, Maria Romana Alvi and Simone De Feudis. Networking and exchanging knowledge with both the trainers and the trainees from diverse backgrounds was incredibily inspiring. An exciting opportunity to bring back home enriching learnings and contribute to the advancement of energy geostructures.
